This has to be one of the coolest, yet simplest videos I have seen in a long time. It features 960 individual records that have been cut and put in sequence to directly represent the waveform of the song. Anyone familiar with such DAW’s as Traktor or Serato will be familiar with these waveform’s.

This one has such a gnarly bass line, crank it. Cant wait to hear more. For those interested,  this tune is forthcoming April 30th on MetalHeadz.

Some of you may have been fans of The Streets at one point and perhaps you may have been wondering what it is that Mr. Skinner has been up too since. Well, here you go, I present The D.O.T. a new musical experiment featuring Mike Skinner of the Streets and Rob Harvey from The Music. Expect some interesting things to come out of this camp over the next little while.

This track was posted mere hours ago on Damian Marley’s SoundCloud page and mark my words, this is a tune you will hear a lot this summer. The fusion of Skrillex’s recognizable beats and Marley’s reggae are a perfect fit and the collaboration works well.

Hailing from the mid-west, DJ Sw@t is a non-stop bass making machine. Since her debut in 2005, Sw@t has played live shows nationwide, has hosted her own radio shows (KrisisDnB, Global Vortex), has her own production company (Hi-Rev) and founded the DNB Girls of Canada Collective. Producing and playing drum and bass, dubstep and a variety of other genres keeps DJ Sw@t busy as hell. I feel lucky to have pinned her down in the hot seat for a VikingSays exclusive interview! What happens when you put two of Hospital Records best together? You get NuLogic – one part Nu:tone and one part Logistics. These two brothers have been working together under that name since 2003 and actually only went solo after they got signed to Hospital Records. Anyways, the mix below is absolutely bonkers, do yourself a favor and check this one out.

Recently we featured a track from U-Turn and his co-label owner 8OYC3Y that was highly received by all who listened. The other day they passed along this track to me which, from what I gather, was made with an Akai LPK midi controller and a Macbook while on a trip around Australia. This is a great example of how you don’t need tons of gear to get a great sound. Biggups to these gents!
