holy shit! I cant stop listening to this record and now you have to read about it muahaha. Pop in this cd and you are sure to enjoy some of the gully riddims, this album received the best album award at the 2009 dnb awards in birmingham and it is no surprise why. It combines the best of two incredible worlds dnb + dubstep = ftw!
WARNING: when listening to dubstep you may blow your speakers and/or your mind!
Here is one of the more well known tunes from this record (at least that im aware of) and im pretty sure that i have heard this mixed by the likes of rusko and co.?
“about five or six years ago i hitchhiked hear and my thumb was stuck out on the freeway and this old man comes up to me and says “you know where you are?? your in the jungle baby!”
This is a unique track, at first i wasn’t too sure what to think of it but tbh now i think it could be one of those tracks that brings more listeners to the dubstep scene. it starts off with an 80′s style sample in the back ground and the pop vocals and then it hits you… tip: crank it
anyways go check the album and spread the dubstep sound to the masses
Thanks to @PrincessLaurouu for sending me more info on the Chase and Status show. As she mentioned this one is going to be massive! If you have never heard of these guys then you should go check the previous post here. Now I’m not sure if I am misreading it but the poster seems to say that it is the last dnb event in the main room?

I know its been a few days since the show but i have been busy haha. First off, it was a great show. They played all of their massive tunes and a couple of wonderful surprises. The sound was a little disappointing but from what I know Circa just got a newish sound system and they needed to work some kinks out of it. A “source” told me that the sound could have been fixed in a couple of minutes but that would have meant stopping the jams… and we all know what happens then (hint: no music = fail). I was a little surprised that only half of Chase and Status were there, specifically the Chase half haha but I don’t think it really matters much for this kind of show. I was pleased to hear a little bit of dubstep thrown into the mix but it wasn’t on for long enough haha. I also enjoyed the tracks from Rusko, Noisia, TC, Caspa etc.
A lot of people hate on MC’s at dnb shows but to be honest they do a heck of a job working up the crowd and I don’t care what anyone else says. Much respect to the MC’s (please stop with the “smack it” though!)
At the very end of the set Chase dropped a siiiiick surprise. If you were there then you know what I am talking about and if not then take a little peep here. It isnt the best quality but you get the idea. Also i can see myself lulz.
All in all it was a ridiculous night and I very much enjoyed Lush, Chase & Status and Marcus Visionary. Looking forward to seeing them again.
One Last Video here but it isnt from the same show…
p.s. circa had the most intense searches before a show that i have ever been too haha
This fascinating, brilliant 20-minute video narrates the history of the “Amen Break,” a six-second drum sample from the b-side of a chart-topping single from 1969. This sample was used extensively in early hiphop and sample-based music, and became the basis for drum-and-bass and jungle music — a six-second clip that spawned several entire subcultures.
The new single from chase and status – enjoi
check out some older chase and status…
