Wow, I’m not a huge fan of the use of auto-tuners, i feel like they have become way to popular recently. However I have to admit that this is pretty fucking cool haha. Give it a watch and let me know what you think? hopefully more will come of this type of experiment!
I made a list of some of the winners of this years music awards to give you a sample of their tunes

holy shit! I cant stop listening to this record and now you have to read about it muahaha. Pop in this cd and you are sure to enjoy some of the gully riddims, this album received the best album award at the 2009 dnb awards in birmingham and it is no surprise why. It combines the best of two incredible worlds dnb + dubstep = ftw!
WARNING: when listening to dubstep you may blow your speakers and/or your mind!
Here is one of the more well known tunes from this record (at least that im aware of) and im pretty sure that i have heard this mixed by the likes of rusko and co.?
“about five or six years ago i hitchhiked hear and my thumb was stuck out on the freeway and this old man comes up to me and says “you know where you are?? your in the jungle baby!”
This is a unique track, at first i wasn’t too sure what to think of it but tbh now i think it could be one of those tracks that brings more listeners to the dubstep scene. it starts off with an 80′s style sample in the back ground and the pop vocals and then it hits you… tip: crank it
anyways go check the album and spread the dubstep sound to the masses
Last night I was lucky enough to get to see a show at Wrongbar with Alex Metric and Adam Freelands Live band. First of all I want to say thank you to Adam Freeland for hooking me up on the guest list! Now here is a brief revue…
Alex Metric was fucking awesome (please check out his tunes here!) and played a sweet set. He was also mad personable and down to talk to the viking so I bought him a stella to say thanks for busting some dope tracks haha (thanks for not kicking me the fuck out of your booth when I came past to say whatsup!). It is a shame he couldn’t have played for longer because I was totally digging it. Here is a short interview with the man himself.
Turns out he co-produced the new album for Adam Freeland, who knew??? Hopefully I can find a way to get his single in Canada when it comes out (if only he had been selling them last night at the show!) It would be really cool too swing a revue of his album when it comes out May 25th. Also we can be expecting an essential mix from him july 18th!
Next on was the headlining act, they went on at around 11 and played for an hour before calling it quits while citing “technical difficulties’ for the reasoning (more to come on that later). As short as it was they still played a dopesonique set that had both some old and new tunes. They have a new album called “cope” coming out May 11th i think? You can listen to the first 8 tracks at the bottom of this post and let me know what you think. Hopefully there will be a review of the full album when it comes out, assuming I can get it here.
Freeland – Under Control – Official Video from Freeland on Vimeo.
Unfortunately there were probably less than 100 people at the bar and i think that was probably the reasoning for them stopping so early. Huge disappointment for fans like me who were hoping to party till the early morning with some hella-dope beats. Now I really hope I am wrong but I don’t think that Mr. Freelands mic was plugged in until after they stopped playing (i watched someone plug the xlr in after he tried to talk to the crowd to tell them he was stopping and nothing came out haha) and I am pretty sure that the Korg ms-20 was more for show than actual use? I had been hopping to see him use it more. Either way I had fun and will for sure go check them out again but this time they need to give me more than two weeks notice so that i can promote the fuck out of the show this time!
big-ups to Alex Metric and FREELAND for a fun but ‘early’ night haha
Respek and love
