Netsky – “2″
Jul 2012 10

I just wanted to share a little preview with you from the new Netsky album. It came out a few weeks ago and is the second album for the Belgian native. His first album was absolutely fantastic and if you haven’t heard it before then you should really grab it and give it a good listen. It is full of melodic liquid drum and bass as well as some nice surprises. Over the past few years Netsky has become one of my favorite artists on the Hospital Records label (let’s be serious, who isn’t awesome on that label?) and his Essential Mix from 2010 still gets frequent listens – be sure to check it out below. His newest album is interesting, unlike his first album which flowed this one is a bit different. The first time though I was disappointed at the lack of flow like his first but each time I listened too it it grew on me a little more. After a couple of listens I was really happy with it, each track is great and its interesting to see him do some tracks that are a little different from what we have come to expect from him (for example, “Squad up feat. Jimmy Jams”).

The first track that I wanted to share with you off of Netsky’s new album is called “Love Has Gone” which is the first track on the album. It has gorgeous vocals which are a staple of his style and great breakdowns – as is tradition.

The next track I wanted to share with you is called “Puppy” and is one of my favorites – if not my favorite track from his new album. Honestly if this one doesn’t make you dance then you should probably go see your doctor and get a danceeotomy (look it up, it’s a real thing).

“Come Alive” – this video has footage filmed by Hospital crew from his most recent tour in fact the first crowd surf was at the Toronto show at the Kool Haus which was a fantastic show. The lineup featured High Contrast, Camo & Krooked, Netsky and more and was one of the best shows to come through here in the last few months as I am sure most attendants will agree.

I was going to leave it with just the tracks above but I thought I would share Netsky’s Classic Essential Mix with you so that you can get an idea of his mixing style. Please be sure to check him out the next time he is at a venue near you!
